He is the Miz, and he's not only awesome but he's also the new WWE champion. Yesterday night on Monday Night RAW, the 30 year old Miz - real name Mike Mizanin - cashed in his Money in the Bank briefcase and defeated Randy Orton to win the gold. The road to the championship was long with The Miz starting his character back in 2001 during the tenth season of MTV's reality TV show The Real World. In 2004 he entered the fourth season of Tough Enough which aired during Smackdown and managed to make it to the finals with the eventual winner Daniel Puder. Despite not winning, The Miz signed a developmental deal with WWE and was transferred to Deep South Wrestling and later to Ohio Valley Wrestling. He made his TV debut in June 2006 as the Smackdown host and then three months later made his Smackdown in-ring debut. In his four years so far with the company, The Miz managed to win the U.S. title twice, the World and WWE Tag Team titles twice and also Money in the Bank.

On Smackdown, Alberto Del Rio, Drew McIntyre, Big Show, Rey Mysterio, MVP, Cody Rhodes, Kofi Kingston and Jack Swagger will be the other Superstars participating in qualifying matches. The three hour King of the Ring tournament will be held during a three hour RAW next week.
